The Spirit of Giving

"...you must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said, 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.' " Acts 20:35

It is so easy to get caught up in "what am I going to get?" and "what do I want?" during the holidays. It is our intention to focus our hearts on giving. We have chosen to participate in projects our children can relate to and be a part of.


Angel Tree Christmas
Bringing the love of Christ to prisoner's kids.

Children of prisoners are five times more likely to be imprisoned themselves. In this project, gifts are bought on behalf of the incarcerated parents and given to their children, allowing the children to feel their parent's love despite their absence. During the delivery, the love of God is shared.

Operation Christmas Child/ Samaritan's Purse

Fill festively wrapped shoe boxes with goodies and have them sent to children in desperate situations throughout the world. At the delivery, gospel booklets in the children's own language are also distributed. Deadline for drop off is this week. If you miss the deadline, contributions can be made to provide goats, chicks, housing, medical care, and other needed items to support those in emergency or poverty situations.

Community

Madison spent Saturday with the M&M Kids Club (Mission Minded Kids, associated with our church) making lunches for the homeless, sorting clothes and foods for a clothing and food bank, and cleaning at an inner city music ministry.

Madison said, "It was interesting to see how many people needed help. I am glad I could help them."
