Eureka!

Today was a day of bright ideas.

It started with Alex and me making a bet. The winner would be awaken each morning for seven days with their favorite beverage. Alex starts his day with coffee. I detest making coffee and I'm not very good at it. (It's a mental block). I was so certain I was right, I suggested the bet. Well, guess who lost?

But I got a good idea out of it. I measured out the coffee in the filters, seven days worth, and put them in the freezer. In the mornings, I am a klutz in the kitchen. Hopefully, this simple step will prevent that hot cup of coffee from being a disaster and will bless him instead.

As the kids were practicing their violin together today, standing in awkward positions in an attempt to read the music as it lay on the table, another good idea popped into my mind. A display stand would do the trick just as well as a music stand which I have been avoiding buying.

And finally as the kids and I raked leaves onto a tarp to carry it off, over and over again (we have A LOT of leaves), I thought about crushing the leaves. It allowed the tarp to hold more and crushing them is just as much fun as jumping into a pile!
